World Cup 2018 - Day 6

The 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia is underway! Over the next month, players from the men's national teams of 32 countries will compete for top rank across 12 venues in 11 cities around the country. With a total of 64 matches (and plenty of GOOOALS!), the games will culminate at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on July 15. 
This year's Doodle series celebrates the rich cultures and talent of all 32 participating countries by featuring guest artists hailing from each nation! Tune in to catch all 32 Doodles throughout the games, each illustrating the artist's interpretation of "What  looks like in my country."

A: Futból is passion in Colombia. The World Cup is a time where we all come together and differences are left at the door. Futból helps us forget for a while the hardships that this country has endured and it helps us look forward to a more bright future.

A: It is the soul of the people in Egypt!

Japan – Shinji Tsuchimochi
Q: What does ⚽ mean in your country?
A: For Japan, football is a familiar sport that is used as a subject of comics and animation. Children playing football have their own dream of becoming a hero one day by touching such things.

A: Football in Poland is more like a celebration than just a sport. It connects fans of all generations from kids to elders, even if they are not interested in the game on a daily basis.

Russia – Arina Shabanova
Q: What does ⚽ mean in your country?
A: Football was always the main game of the country, every kid in the yard plays it. This is not just a game, but also a spectacle that gathers people together, like gatherings with songs by the fire, but only much larger.

Senegal – Pamplemus

A: In my country, Football is something special. We support our national team with passion. Moreover, people are used to playing with their loved ones in the evening at the beach and debate about games.
